Fall Bride – Edmonton Wedding Makeup Artist

My last wedding of the year 😕. That means winter is slowly creeping up on us.  Nooooo!!!  Although it’s hibernation mode very soon here for us Albertans,  I highly suggest any 2017 brides to book me, your wedding makeup artist ASAP because time and space is limited because remember, there are only 4 weekends in a month!! 🤔😉😀

This weekend’s bride was one of my favs. She is already so naturally beautiful that all we had to do was go for a soft, glowy, romantic look.  The end result was so pretty!!  Perfect bridal look for someone who doesn’t want to look too done up but just enough to look good in photos.👌

I also had the pleasure of doing the bride’s friends’ makeup as well and here I did my classic smokey eye to compliment dark brown eyes and a pink blush & lip combo to top it off.  Sexy sexy!!

For Lisa we went for a brown smokey eye and red lip combo.  Smoke show mamma!!! This is always a good look for blondes. 👍🏼 (this was before hair was done)

Mother Daughter Duo – Edmonton Wedding Makeup Artist

I had the pleasure of doing bridal/bridesmaid makeup for this beautiful mother daughter duo last month.  Mother and daughter?!! More like sisters to me!  Bombshells! 😍😍

A Glamorous Indian Wedding – Edmonton Wedding Makeup Artist

Better late than never!  I’ve been extremely busy lately but here is my beautiful Indian bride from last month.  The first wedding of the year for me!

Everything turned out perfect- even more so than the bridal trial we had prior.    She looked soooo beautiful!!

Indian bridal makeup is much more dramatic and bold than your average bride: dark eyes, heavy contour and red lips.  Together, all the colours just pop – they’re intense and so beautiful that it always always captures soooo beautifully on camera/film.  I love doing Indian weddings!!! ❤️

My beautiful soon to be Bollywood bride!! Indian weddings are so elaborate and full of beautiful colours and details…I absolutely love it!  My bride-to-be wanted dramatic eyes and a red lip, my kind of girl!!  We did not do any false lashes here at the trial (because she had errands to run right after) BUT we will be adding dramatic false lashes on the day of the wedding which will complete the whole look that much more.  I can’t wait!!!  See you soon gorgeous!!

3 Weddings in 1 Day – Edmonton Wedding Makeup Artist

Last weekend was a crazy one…  Look how long it took me to do a blog post about it!  I’m still recovering! #canthang #gettingold 😂😂

I had 3 weddings to do back to back to back.  10 clients and 10 hours later I made it out alive!  Yay! 🙌 #hallejulah

Some pics from my crazy day:

My day started with a 6am car #selfie of course!  😆

#selfie with the beautiful bride #1!  👌😍  We were so rushed that I didn’t take any other pics of anyone else. 😦

Unfortunately I didn’t take any pics of the 2nd wedding party as well because we were so short on time. Again. #weddingproblems
#girlproblems actually lol

3rd wedding was the beautiful Jessica’s!  I wish the sun wasn’t glaring though ugh.

I don’t do updos but if you would like voluminous Victoria Secret model curls, I’m your girl! 😆😆;);)

After a long day’s work nothing like taking my face off 😨😨 😨 and settling down with my #greensmoothie. 👍🌇🌒

Wedding Day – Edmonton Wedding Makeup Artist

Another bright and early wedding day!  5am wakeup call! 😨😨  I was running on 2 hours of sleep; I couldn’t sleep the night before for some reason and it wasn’t even MY wedding!!! Lol 😂😂
As much as I would love to show up straight out of bed in my pjs without brushing my teeth or putting on makeup, I can’t do that to my brides! Or to the public!! 😮 So I still try to look as cute as my 5am self will let me.  Gotta look presentable for my girls!! 👍👌 😆

Today’s bride does not wear makeup at all so she wanted very natural looking makeup for her wedding.  We came up with a romantic and soft, super pretty bridal look!

image

For the maid of honor, I did a soft medium smokey eye using MAC’s ‘mythology’ eyeshadow with a light handed black eyeshadow to smoke out the outer corners.  How smokin’ is she!! 🔥🔥😍

#selfie with the maid of honor!  💕

‘Love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life’  #amen!! 🙌
Bridal Trials are one of my favs to do because I get to meet and get to know my bride before the big day.  It’s like having a gf over for a makeover; always a good time and great conversation!!  Not to mention it also helps make the day of wedding go smoothly and faster and not rushed since I know exactly what my bride wants for makeup 👍

Kristen wanted a ‘natural but not’ look for her wedding day and this is what we came up with.  Super soft and super pretty!  See you in September babe!! 💖

Kim’s Wedding – Edmonton Wedding Makeup Artist

Kim’s big day started bright and early.  I loathe waking up so early for weddings but I love what I do so it’s worth it!

3 of the 6 ladies I worked on this past Saturday including the beautiful bride in her gorgeous traditional Vietnamese dress!  So so beautiful!

Kim decided she wanted to go lighter on the eyes on her wedding day compared to what we did at the bridal trial.  So I did a light smokey eye on her with no eyeliner on the lower waterline, just shadow.

That’s why I can’t stress enough how bridal trials are so important.  It’s like buying a new car without test driving it first 😉  You might be so set on a certain ‘look’ for your special day that you don’t realize that it might not work with your skintone, eye shape, face shape, eye color, etc etc.

At Kim’s bridal trial 2 weeks ago, she wanted to try a medium-dark smokey eye with a neutral lip.  She looked smokin’ don’t get me wrong (check out her bridal trial pics in my previous post) but after wearing it the whole day and taking her engagement pictures with the makeup on, she decided that the eye makeup was a little too dark than what she was used to and she wanted to go lighter on the eyes for her wedding day.  And nothing wrong with that!
Imagine if we didn’t do a bridal trial and I did the darker smokey eye on her actual wedding day.  She would have seen the pictures after the wedding was over and wished we went lighter on the eyes but guess what- too late!  That would suck right?!  If you’re not comfortable with how your makeup looks it’ll definately show and that’s no good!  So bride-to-be’s, definately book a bridal trial if you can!!

Kim’s wedding day makeup turned out so perfect, I wish we had better lighting to capture the makeup on my phone.  She looked SO SO pretty and I’m not just saying that cuz I did her makeup! lol  I’m hoping I can get some professional pictures from Kim when she gets them!

And of course, a #selfie with my gorgeous bride!  Thank you for letting me be part of your special day!  Even though I had to wake up at the crack of dawn and my eyes were all bloodshot and I was tired as hell and super cranky and took it out on my kids and slept the whole next day ❤

A few weeks ago I did a bridal trial for Kim which was also for her engagement pictures.  I highly suggest my clients to do their bridal trial closer to the wedding date and also on a day where you have  engagement photos to be taken, your stagette, a party, a special date, anything to not waste your beautiful face all done up!  Kill 2 birds with 1 stone!  Get out and be seen you sexy thing!  😘

Kim looked HOTTT.  She wanted smokey eyes with a neutral lip and it  matched her so well.  Not to mention, it will also photograph really well also! See you in less than 2 weeks on your big day Kim!!!!  💍💐💒

Beach Wedding Beauty Inspiration – Loverly and lilylelymakeup

My friends at lover.ly sent some beautiful wedding dresses for me to choose and create beauty inspiration for and here is my pick!
Lover.ly is like a one stop wedding shop.  You know how brides carry a binder or wedding planner book  for inspiration and planning?  You can now do it all online on lover.ly!  Everything you need to plan your wedding.  I know what I’ll be using when my time comes 😀
I’m not married.  Never been but if I ever, I’m all about the destination weddings.  I mean, I’ve already been planning my imaginary beach wedding for most of my adult life!  Just check out my pinterest, I have a whole board on “My Future Beach Wedding’!  It’ll happen one day damnit, IT WILL!!!!!!!!!!!! #endrantbridewannabezilla hahhaahha
I chose this simple yet elegant and sexy wedding dress for the perfect beach wedding.  (ahem mine will be in Varadero, Cuba in case you’re wondering)  Who says you can’t wear a fancy elegant full length wedding dress on the sandy beach?  I’d skip all jewlery except maybe some diamond stud earrings.  No necklace, no bracelets, nada.  Afterall, you don’t want tan lines on your neck or wrists.  Plus, it’ll probably be so hot that any jewlery would probably just irritate the crap out of me (or you.)  The best part – no need for 4+ inch heels that’ll dig into and hurt your feet.  Barefoot or with bling’ed out flip flops, either will work with this strapless beauty of a dress.  🙂

For makeup, I would focus more on that sexy JLo glowy bronzey skin.  I’d be careful not to get too tanned or worst, sunburnt before the wedding day so be careful ladies!  Limit the tanning by the pool/beach.  Or wear a hat and sunblock!  That luminous glowy skin can be achieved by using bronzer and a great highlighter.  Paired with a medium smokey eye using neutral color eyeshadows and then topped off with a pinky-nude lipgloss and we are good to go!  For hair, I think loose beachy waves would look best.  But if it’s too hot I would pull the loose curls to the side and go for that messy low side bun or ponytail look.  Casual yet chic and beautiful for my I mean your beach wedding!  😀
